Intelligent Track & Trace

The Ultimate Solution for Monitoring Valuable and Perishable Goods

In 2017, Verizon approached Clearform in need of a web app and a mobile app to use in supporting use cases identified by a technology partner of theirs around the shipping and receiving of perishable goods, including medical supplies. All parties needed to monitor the location and conditions of the goods in real-time.

Intelligent Track and Trace lets you monitor valuable or perishable goods that are at risk of theft, are environmentally sensitive, or maybe critical parts of high-demand healthcare settings.

Challenge

Product in the global supply chain has to be aggregated into large containers, de-aggregated into smaller ones, and re-aggregated back into larger containers numerous times as they make their way across the planet to their final destination.

Each time, new IDs need to be created and managed so they can be tracked. With food and vaccines, they need to be monitored for temperature, humidity, tilt, and light.

Solution

We designed an experience that enables distributors to set the value tolerance ranges of each product, identify compatible goods, and match them with supply chain routes. If at any time, a parcel moves outside of the tolerance range of any of the set conditions, both sender and receiver receive an alert.

As part of the de-aggregate / re-aggregate needs, we designed a companion mobile application that allows users to unpair groups of items and to scan items into new groups creating a new ID to track and trace.

Intelligent Track & Trace’s launch was a success and Verizon ultimately ended up acquiring the technology partner.
